Purl & Plot exists to make designing a knitting chart feel less complicated. The knitting chart maker is free, runs in your browser, and requires no account.

Each square in the editor represents one stitch as viewed from the right side. Gauge preview uses your measured stitches and rows per four inches or ten centimeters. Colorwork instructions follow the selected flat or circular reading direction. Stitch charts are design aids; shaping and yarn requirements need a swatch and pattern review.

The journal includes tutorials, project planning, troubleshooting, and equipment selection guides. Buying guides explain specifications and tradeoffs. We do not publish invented product testing, customer counts, reviews, or endorsements.

You can save your work on this device and download a portable backup. Browser storage can be cleared, so keep copies of projects you care about. All current tool features and exports are free.
